Overview
Two flexible learning approaches
BULATS Online Courses are targeted at learners with Levels B1 - C1 of English on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Each 50-hour course accommodates different learning and teaching preferences:
- BULATS Blended Learning Course
This course will be delivered as a mix of online and classroom learning. The classroom element of the course is designed to be delivered by a tuition provider or employer training departments as an integral part of the overall course content. This can be carried out face-to-face or virtually.
- BULATS Self-study Course
This course will be delivered entirely online, allowing maximum flexibility and autonomy for the learner.
Both courses are designed to develop business English language ability across the four skill areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
The classroom learning experience
The blended learning course is designed to effectively combine online and classroom teaching. Classroom sessions focus on consolidating the learning from the online element of the course and offer further practice across the four skills through practical classroom activities. Throughout the course, prominence will be given to test preparation and practice working with test-type questions and model answers, supported by vocabulary, language and skills focused activities.
50 hours of learning
Both courses are organised into 3 modules:
- Reading and listening (30 hours)
- Speaking (10 hours)
- Writing (10 hours).
Each module is divided into a number of functional and/or topic-based units which are organised according to the structure of BULATS. Each module contains a mix of language work, specialist vocabulary, and a focus on the skills business professionals need in order to communicate and work effectively in English.
